Sikh riots case : Court convicts death penalty and life imprisonment to second convict.

Naresh Sahravat and Yashpal Singh, who were convicted of murder in a case related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, have been sentenced. The court has given the life sentence to the king, while the other guilty Yashpal Singh has been sentenced to death.

Along with this, the court has imposed a fine of Rs 35-35 lakh on both the culprits. Last week, the court had reserved its order after hearing all the parties related to the matter. Let us tell you that the Home Ministry had constituted SIT to investigate the issues related to the 1984 riots in 2015. After that this is the first sentence.

During the arguments on the prosecution, the prosecution and the counsel of the victims had demanded hanging for the culprits, while the plea for mercy was made on behalf of the defense.
